Matt Kelmon

Founder, and Chief Investment Officer​

Bass Rocks Asset Management was founded by Matt Kelmon in the San Francisco Bay Area. Matt has three decades of experience advising and sub-advising options related portfolios for advisors, individuals, foundations, non-profits, insurance companies and corporations. Previously, Matt co-founded and grew a Palo Alto, California based RIA gathering more than a billion dollars and becoming one of the fastest growing Inc 100 companies. 

​

Matt has led trading teams, managed assets for thousands of clients, appeared dozens of times on financial media such as CNBC, Bloomberg, MarketWatch as well as hundreds of times in print media including Barrons, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and the Associated Press.  

​

While Portfolio Manager of three 1940 Act public mutual funds, Matt traded more than a million options contracts in both bull and bear markets. 

​

Matt launched Bass Rocks Asset Management to bring his options and portfolio management experience to clients and other advisors seeking to diversify their invested assets by adding options as a tool to their investing toolbox.

Nick Tognoli 

Director of Asset Acquisition

Nick Tognoli is responsible for expanding our asset base by identifying and cultivating relationships with investors. He sources new business opportunities and maintains strong relationships with existing clients to attract and retain assets under management. Nick is an investor who aims to make positive impacts in the community and the world.

​

Previously, Nick worked as an Investor Relations Specialist with Brookwood Investment Group, LLC, and served as an Advisor for 1Flourish Capital, a faith-based venture capital firm. He holds a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Business and Organizational Leadership from Arizona State University. Nick is also a volunteer Assistant Coach for Special Olympics Northern California & Nevada.

Tom Tognoli 

Advisor

Tom Tognoli brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his advisory role at Bass Rocks Asset Management. A Silicon Valley native, Tom co-founded Intero in 2002, building it into one of the top real estate companies in the United States with over $12 billion in annual sales volume before its acquisition by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway in 2014. Tom continued as CEO after the acquisition, further expanding Intero's reach until his departure in 2019.

In addition to his experience with Intero, Tom is a Partner at 1Flourish Capital, a venture firm that invests in early-stage, disruptive tech startups. 1Flourish Capital is known for its commitment to advancing human flourishing through investments in high-character founders and their companies. Tom leverages his extensive network and experience from 1Flourish to support asset gathering for the firm. His role includes connecting the firm with potential investors, providing strategic insights, and leveraging his network to enhance the firm's growth.

Tom's expertise in leadership, team building, and organizational culture, as well as his active involvement in real estate development and investment, makes him a valuable asset. His no-nonsense attitude and authentic approach help drive the firm's success and ensure strong relationships with investors. Residing in Sunnyvale, CA and Scottsdale, AZ Tom is dedicated to helping individuals and organizations thrive and brings a depth of experience and passion to his role.

Christina Kelmon

As Chief Marketing Officer at Bass Rocks Asset Management, Christina Kelmon leads the firm’s marketing strategy and public relations driving brand growth and client engagement. She is responsible for crafting and executing marketing campaigns that highlight Bass Rocks' expertise in options-based and holistic investment strategies. With a keen focus on enhancing the firm's visibility, Christina plays a pivotal role in establishing Bass Rocks as a leader in the industry.

Christina’s notable achievements include recognition on the Inc. 200 Female Founders list and the Forbes Next 1000 list. Her background includes co-founding a syndicate Venture Capital Fund supporting women and serving on the senior investment team at Circle, a leader in peer-to-peer payments technology and creators of stablecoin USDC, where she has seen over $400 billion bridged between the banking system and blockchains. Christina’s career highlights also include assisting in the raise of over $50M for small to medium-sized businesses and contributing to raising $5 billion in investment capital at a boutique investment firm in San Francisco, whose notable private placement transactions include BT, Google, Yahoo!, IAC, Hearst Corporation, Walt Disney Company, Sony, Phillips Electronics, IBM, and Intel. She began her career working for a Congresswoman where she developed a strong foundation in public service.
